I run Spyware Doctor from PCTools on my systems and schedule it to do full scans nightly. I also run the onguard protection that is built into Spyware Doctor to prevent the loading of spyware on a real-time basis
By far, the best adware removal tool I've found is Ad-Aware by Lavasoft.

These are the best tools I've found for preventing and removing viruses. In addition to running Panda antivirus on my systems, I also scan all systems with these tools on a regular basis.
